Atelier KISM creates Super 8 and 16mm film, photography, and artworks in multiple media. A single work may be rendered in multiple forms using varied materials, such as fabric, film, resin-soaked paper or other material. Some forms have utilitarian function in addition to aesthetic function.

Each piece undergoes transformations during its creation, and is composed of different media at each stage. For example, an image may be composed of found, cut paper elements glued on artboard. It is then photographed and scanned, and the digital image is simplified. It may then be printed with a large format archival printer on silk or  another fabric. The printed fabric is then draped over a form and soaked with resin, producing a three-dimensional object. Alternatively, it may be hung with one or more other fabric renderings to form a hanging, wind-borne triptych.

A distinctive, idiosyncratic artifact is created at each stage. As a work goes through its transformations, it leaves behind a trail of incarnations in varied media, emodying varied intents, producing varied experiences.
